What a great time of the year it is to be a member of CRLTC! There is a buzz as our club transforms with the opening of the grass courts and Railway Union as a whole sees lots of activity all across the grounds. On that note, a big thank you to Ann O’Neill, Mavis Donnelly and Tadhg Kennelly who were hard at work yesterday getting the grass courts set up. Also to Derek Collins and David Fassbender who keep the courts and the surrounding area in tip top shape! Here are some of the upcoming events over the next few action packed months:
Mini Davis Cup
- Sunday 19th May at 2pm
- This event is open to players of all standards, juniors and seniors, members and non-members, if you can keep a rally going then you qualify.
- Entrants will be put into teams with other players of varying ages and standard who will then face off against similarly matched opponents from other teams, the team with the most points at the end will be crowned champions!
- Entry is FREE and there are great prizes to be won! The emphasis will be on fun and club spirit so even if you haven’t picked up a racket in a while come down and be a part of it!
- The event will run in conjunction with T4C (Tennis 4 Cancer). This is an initiative set up by Grace Owens, a coach from Carraig tennis club, to help raise money for The Irish Society For Cancer Research & Breast Cancer Research. Donations will be accepted on the day.
- Participants, supporters (and organisers) need sustinance so if you could bring down a plate of refreshments for the day it would be much appreciated

- This is always very popular event and places will fill up fast so book early to avoid disappointment!
