Vice Presidents’ Lunch

Published on May 17, 2019 03:38 pm

Well done FX for organising such an enjoyable event and many thanks to all who supported and attended. There are a few photos from the day including some of Des Stirrat, the longest serving member of our club, regaling us with tales about on and off-field events in Railway during the 50s and 60s.

Special thanks go to Terry, John, and Eamon Behan who remembered their much-loved brother Leo at the lunch. Leo won senior league medals on the champion teams in 1960 and 1962 and senior cup in 1967. Terry reminisced about Leo the Behan family’s connections with the club before the brothers presented FX with Leo’s trophies. We will treasure them.

Last Man Standing 2019

Published on May 17, 2019 03:28 pm

We are running a Last Man Standing Competition for the Cricket World Cup. It should be a bit of fun and will give you an interest in the tournament which is sadly lacking Irish involvement.

You can get involved on our website http://www.railwaycricket.com/comp/ or find Ciaran Divney or Eoghan Connolly who can give you entry forms.

Player Statz

Performance of the week was a close call this week. Alex Stiles had a great game with bat and ball for the 1st XI against Malahide. He bowled 7 economical overs of spin in the first innings taking 2 for 22 before scoring 57 runs in the chase.

Even better though was the innings of Ciara O’Brien for the Women up in Rathmines. Proving once again that class is permanent, Ciara led her team from the front with a flawless 62 not out in the first innings. Well batted Ciara!
Visit our statz section of the website to see who else is getting runs and taknig wickets.
