The first Div 1 home match of the season was marked by the inaugural Vice Presidents’ lunch. A light lunch hosted by club president Brendan O’Brien was enjoyed by a good gathering of former players and supporters. It was great to see so many well known Railway legends renewing acquaintances with each other and the club. let’s hope that we see more of you through out the season.
Guest of honour was Edgar Piggott. Edgar was well known as a left arm bowler who in tandem with Niall McConnell bowled us to success in the early 1960s. He captained the side that won the Leinster Senior league in 1962 and was instrumental in bringing through a crop of young players including joey O’ Meara, Brendan O’Brien, and Dessie Byrne.
