The hockey club held on Monday its annual golf outing at Woodbrook Golf Club and the event was a successful and enjoyable one for all the cub members, both mens and ladies, and their guests who participated on the day. It was great to see a number of past and present players driving, chipping and putting on the course and sharing stories afterwards over dinner. The winning team was captained by Cormac Kilty who had a strong team out on the day including our own Jeremy Duncan, Irish National Men’s Hockey Coach Craig Fulton and UCD Men’s Coach, Elun Hack. They pipped Jimmy Kelly’s team by one point who had Paul Kelly, Pat Kelly and Dan Cronin on his team. Longest drive was won by Craig Fulton and nearest the pin by Karl Swan. Finally, the event also witnessed a hole in one by Fred Barber from the Rugby Club.
Thank you to all who participated and to the sponsors of the prizes – Jack Phelan; Swan Clothing Ltd; Pete Matthews and Kenny Carroll and the many many individuals who sponsored a tee box as part of the fundraising initiative.
