A New Season…
The 2016 cricket season is up and running and it looks like the weather is warming up too. We will be keeping you updated on all things to do with cricket in Railway through this weekly newsletter. If you have announcements that you would like included, email them to rucccricketcomp@gmail.com by 1pm on Tuesday using the email subject ‘Newsletter’.

The Irish Senior Cup kicks off this weekend; our 1st XI will be renewing rivalries with Cork County at the Mardyke on Saturday. Let’s hope we get the same results if not the same weather as we got down there last season. Good luck boys, go well!

Welcome Charith!
Railway Union CC are very pleased to announce Charith Fernando as our overseas player for the forthcoming season. Charith is a promising young cricketer from Sri Lanka .

At 23 years old he is one of the up and coming players of the strong Ragama Cricket Club squad that is competing across all formats in the Sri Lankan domestic circuit. He is a seam bowling all rounder.

We are confident he will have a very positive influence on our club both on and off the pitch. We would like to thank Robert Ashwell of Ace Cricket Exchange and Roshan Abesinghe for facilitating us in the signing of Charith.”
Youth Cricket Registration
We are pleased to say that there has been a really good turn out at youth cricket training sessions so far this year despite the cold weather. Matches are starting in the coming weeks. All players must be registered by Friday 13th May.

Youth registration will be taking place in the club house between 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm on Friday 6th, Thursday 12th, and Friday 13th May. There is a limit on the numbers of children we can accommodated and places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

You can download the application here; we will have copies available at registration.
