Railway Union Hockey Club

Founded in 1904, Railway Union Hockey Club is one of the oldest and most famous hockey clubs in Ireland.  We have male and female teams for all ages and abilities, catering for players of all backgrounds and nationalities.  From 7 to 70, Railway has a place for you. Railway Union Hockey Club is one of the biggest and most successful hockey clubs in the country.  Fielding 5 women’s teams and 5 men’s teams, as well as a thriving junior section and two veterans teams, it caters for all ages and all levels of ability from social hockey players to international athletes.  The hockey club has won many accolades including the prestigious IHA Hockey Club of the Year award in 2010, as well as individual player, coach and volunteer awards.

What we offer

We have something to offer men and women, boy and girl hockey players as well as something for parents, supporters and past members with our range of facilities, hockey coaching and competition, as well as clubhouse and social events.

•Water based hockey pitch with match standard floodlights to play and train
•Competition in Leinster leagues and cups for all teams as well as competition in Irish leagues and cups for men’s and ladies 1sts teams and Irish Junior Cup for men’s and ladies 2nds teams
•Over the last number of years there has been the opportunity to play at the very top level in European club competitions

•A circle of male and female friends outside of your normal environment
•Active club roles available for the betterment of the club and to enhance your CV
•Opportunities for coaching in the junior and senior club, including acquisition of coaching qualifications
•Non playing roles available in the management and administration of the club
•Parents, friends and supporters are welcome and can enjoy participating in club activities including social and fundraising functions, as well as supporting the teams at home and abroad
•The opportunity to also play the other sports available at the sports club, including cricket, tennis, soccer, rugby, and bowls.
