More than a Sports Club

At Railway Union we are more than a sports club, we host and partner with a number of community groups and businesses that add value to locals and beyond

Movement Room Physiotherapy is the new Chartered Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic which has opened in our new Community Facility at Railway Union Sports Club

Movement Room Physiotherapy is headed by Hilary Mae Gannon who has worked full time in elite sports for the last 5 years as Head Physiotherapist with Welsh Women’s Football team and with the Welsh Rugby Union. She has also worked as a consultant to Badminton Wales, with Cricket Ireland Women and is currently a contractor with the IRFU providing cover across a number of their squads.

All Railway Union Sports Club Members are eligible for a reduced consultation fee. Movement Room Physiotherapy is available for all of your injury needs. If you have pain limiting your activity, a new injury, recent surgery or if you would like some advice on injury prevention, the team at Movement Room Physiotherapy can help.

In the coming weeks Hilary will be launching their MRP Screening sessions – with an attractive introductory offer. Using Output sports and other testing equipment, individuals will be brought through a battery of functional movements, jump tests, strength and mobility measures to help build a profile and identify potential areas of weakness that may contribute to injury. They will provide individuals with an personalised program to help address these areas.

If this is something you are interested in email the team on info@movementroomphysiotherapy.ie to be first to book a slot, and keep an eye on our website and Instagram page.

Food Market at Railway Union every Wednesday and Saturday

Since the end of February 2021, the club has been successfully hosting a food market every Wednesday morning (8am onwards) and Saturday (9am onwards) in the clubs grounds.

The support from local residents and members over the past few months has been terrific and the quality of the food available has been excellent.

A wide range of fresh and organic produce is available including Kilmore Quay fish, organic cheese, organic butcher, organic fruit and veg, freshly baked bread and delicious Italian goods, jams, oils, sauces and flowers. There’s also barista coffee and freshly baked biscuits for those who just wish to linger a little in the open air.

The car park is closed on these dates to facilitate the market and those who can are encouraged to travel on foot or by bike.

d4Pilates are delighted to offer private Reformer sessions from their new studio at Railway Union Sports Club.

Why choose d4Pilates ?
It’s about you. At d4Pilates you’re a person, not a membership number. We guarantee personalised focused attention, whether you’re preparing for a marathon in our Open Level class or gaining grace and flexibility in our Ballet-lates™ class.

Reformer sessions are limited to two clients, just as Joseph Pilates intended, unlike gym-like set-ups. Clients attending mat classes will be carefully matched to their ability and have their progress constantly monitored.
